Often during pregnancy, the expectant-Mum would be tossing in bed trying to get comfortable before falling asleep. Unfortunately, her regular sleeping positions may not be effective during pregnancy.

There are many reasons for the discomfort, but there are some sleeping positions that can be tested out to get that much-needed slumber.

The expectant-Mum should avoid sleeping on her back. When laying down on her back, her baby bump would now rest on her intestines and some major blood vessels (the aorta and vena cava). This can lead to backaches, breathing difficulties and digestive system issues.

Avoid sleeping on stomach. Sensibly, as the expectant-Mum progress farther along in pregnancy, her abdomen would grow larger which makes it more difficult to lay on her stomach.
